This Yamaha surround sound system has been designed specifically for home theater applications.
The A6A AV Receiver was made to deliver rock-solid, superior sound. With its powerful design this impressive AV receiver will completely transform your home cinema with professional-quality audio and video.
For those without in-ceiling or upward firing speakers in their system, Dolby Atmos with Height Virtualization Technology* simulates the Atmos experience with forward facing-drivers. Configure up to five speakers to replicate the effect of two in-ceiling speakers, or utilize all seven channels to simulate the powerful effect of four overhead speakers.
*This function is available via future update.
All the speakers incorporate Polymer-Injected Mica Diaphragm (PMD) cone woofers with a 1” aluminum dome tweeter, the tweeter utilizes Yamaha’s exclusive waveguide horn for improved imaging.
Plus a subwoofer with Twisted Flare Port, for clear and tight bass, that will match a wide range of speakers and interiors.

Instructions For Firmware Update RX-A6A
If you are running a 4K/120 or 8K/60 capable device with correctly spec’d HDMI cabling and a display that supports the 4K/120+8K/60 formats, you will need to make a change in the AVR settings in order to pass the signal through.
Simply navigate through the AVR menu and select ‘Video/HDMI’.
Then choose ‘HDMI Video Format’.
For the HDMI port(s) that the applicable sources are connected to, ensure the video format is changed to ‘8K Mode’.
