As part of the THX® family, the THX-5000-SUR surround loudspeaker with Klipsch Wide Dispersion Surround Technology™ (WDST) brings a new dimension of reality to home theater by using the same high-performance technology as the Klipsch professional cinema systems.
The THX-5000-SUR Is A THX Ultra2 Certified Loudspeaker – It was designed for high performance 5.1-, 6.1-, and 7.1-channel home theaters. It is a great choice for any home theater or home-theater/music system that demands superior sound and high output capability. The speaker’s compact sealed enclosure maximizes installation flexibility. Integrated into the back-panel are vertically aligned keyholes for wall mounting as well as 1/4” – 20 threaded inserts compatible with any high quality wall/ceiling speaker mount rated for 20lbs or higher loads.
The THX-5000-SUR Uses Klipsch Wide Dispersion Surround Technology (WDST) – This enables it to deliver a unique combination of diffusion and coverage, yielding the benefits of both diffuse- and direct radiating surround speakers with the drawbacks of neither. Listeners enjoy the deep, enveloping surround sound field characteristic of diffuse-radiating designs together with the precise localization of specific effects typically provided only by direct-radiating models. The WDST array comprises two 1-inch titanium-dome compression driver tweeters loaded by 5-inch square 90° x 60° Tractrix® Horns and two 5.25-inch Cerametallic™ cone woofers. Each woofer/tweeter set is on an angled baffle facing opposite the other, with the tweeters on a diagonal to one another to minimize interference between their outputs. The tweeter is the same as used in the THX-6000-LCR and THX-5000-LCR speakers, and the woofer is the same as used in the THX-5000-LCR, ensuring a seamlessly cohesive sound field from front to rear.
Construction Is To The Highest Standard – With premium components throughout to ensure sonic purity, consistency, and reliability.
